Work Overview

At a modern Chinese family’s rosewood round table, dappled with light and shadow, a boy sits alone. The rosewood grain on the tabletop (Y) deeply intertwines with flowing, silk like algorithmic data streams (X). The Z axis manifests as a “wet ink bleed” technique, allowing light to diffuse like ink wash in the air, creating an extreme sense of transparency. On the empty seats, light and shadow automatically outline a faint, smoke like transparent “sibling” silhouette – this silhouette is not a painted symbol but is formed through the “unnatural refraction” of light in the furniture’s grain.

Field Evidence

Drawn from real sampling of urban surfaces, old photographs, object textures, and site light.

Hand Intervention

Overlaying, repainting, deleting, and renaming reactivate authorial judgment within the image.

Algorithmic Inference

The algorithm generates relationships and variants, but does not make the final judgment.

Material Return

The final output returns to paper, canvas, or panel, completing its material embodiment.
