The Forced Alignment #04
A torso compressed by invisible forces, shoulders unnaturally hunched. How to manifest the physicality of power through the "materialization of light"?

Work Overview
The Forced Alignment moves away from the visual mimicry of delivery boxes or uniforms, focusing instead on the "micro-erosion" of bodily sovereignty by algorithmic rating systems. In the Western collecting context, the body is not just a container for labor, but a battlefield for power. The conflict consists of two opposing material logics: the "flesh," characterized by charcoal grit and layered oil-sticks, and the "rating light-planes," which are cold, absolutely vertical, and at 15% opacity. Light is no longer a tool for illumination but a materialized wall of incarceration.
Field Evidence
Drawn from real sampling of urban surfaces, old photographs, object textures, and site light.
Hand Intervention
Overlaying, repainting, deleting, and renaming reactivate authorial judgment within the image.
Algorithmic Inference
The algorithm generates relationships and variants, but does not make the final judgment.
Material Return
The final output returns to paper, canvas, or panel, completing its material embodiment.
